MERA by Valerie Michelle is an exciting new couture bridal line tailored to today’s bride.
The MERA Collection features a traditional styling with a distinctly modern flair.

MERA strives to give each bride the experience of creating a unique gown by offering a variety of fabrics-- from a beautiful quality polyester to the luxurious silk peau de soie. In addition, there is a wide range of elegant colors; snow white, creamy ivory, pale blush pink or delicate platinum. Minor design changes (such as raising or lowering a neckline or adding a sleeve) are also available. Brides may also choose a semi-custom gown, such as combining a skirt and bodice from different MERA designs. This system of "design flexibility" allows brides to tailor their gowns to suit their individual tastes. The MERA Collection is currently available in selected areas on an exclusive basis.

Valerie Michelle Arem began her bridal design career working in couture fabrics. With a commercial background in costume design and production, her early career in a couture fabric house was a wonderful opportunity to learn about fine fabrics and couture design. Working with clients such as Bob Mackie and Nolan Miller, as well  as many television and movie studio costume designers, Valerie was able to receive personal instruction from the couturiers about the techniques used in the production of their gowns. The many lessons in the art of lace-work and other techniques would later prove to be invaluable in the development of the MERA bridal line. Her growing interest in the specialty and formal fabric division of the company led her to become their bridal specialist.

  After several years in the fabric industry, Valerie’s client base had grown to lead her into her own business of custom bridal and attendants gowns. While continuing with her private clients, she also took a position with an established bridal salon to become familiar with the ready-to-wear bridal industry. This allowed her to directly interact with a variety of brides, as well as gain a better understanding of a retailer’s needs from a manufacturer. Based on this knowledge and experience, MERA by Valerie Michelle was created.
